Consumer Advocacy & Debt Matters

Helping You Understand the Problem and Figure Out What Comes Next

Consumer problems can become overwhelming quickly. You may be dealing with a debt collector, an account you do not recognize, information on your credit report that does not appear accurate, unauthorized transactions, or a company that simply is not responding to your concerns.

Sometimes the issue has been going on for months. Sometimes you have already made calls, submitted disputes, or tried to work it out yourself. And sometimes, by the time you are looking for an attorney, you have already been sued.

At Veronica Lockett Law, PLLC, the first step is understanding what actually happened. That means looking at the records, identifying where the dispute is, and helping you understand what options may be available.

Depending on the situation, that may include reviewing account records for discrepancies, addressing inaccurate credit reporting, disputing unauthorized transactions, helping you respond to collection activity, or helping you communicate with a creditor, bank, or debt collector.

If you have been sued by a debt collector, I can also assist with the negotiation process. That may include helping you understand the claim being made, reviewing the information available, and working toward a possible resolution.

Not every consumer problem requires the same approach. Sometimes the next step is a written dispute. Sometimes more information is needed before anything can be determined. Sometimes the issue involves negotiating a debt. Other times, the question is whether the company's records support what it is claiming.

My approach is to slow the situation down, look at what the documents actually show, and help you make informed decisions about what to do next.

Consumer matters may include:

  • Credit reporting disputes

  • Debt collection issues

  • Debt negotiation

  • Lawsuits filed by debt collectors

  • Unauthorized banking transactions

  • Billing and account disputes

  • Disputes involving inaccurate or inconsistent account records

The goal is not to make promises about a particular result. It is to make sure you understand the problem, understand your options, and have a plan for moving forward.
